Never Plead Guilty and Never say "How Come?"

I remember I went to get a haircut with Grandfather and when we were walking home I started to ask him "Grandfather, how come t?" He cut me off and said, "Never use the word how come. 

How come is not a word.  Replace it with "Why?"

Then he said, "Also remember never to use the word "because."
