Television and Jake Ehrlich Sr.

The estate of Jake Ehrlich., is proud to present this video footage of Jake Ehrlich Sr., on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson which originally aired in 1963:

Jake confers with Raymond Burr. The Perry Mason character, created by Earl Stanley Gardner was based on Jake's career. Burr spent two weeks with Jake to study Jake's movements and mannerisms.

After working with Earl Gardner, Jake thought he could do a better job, so working with Gene Rodenburry and actor Deforest Kelly, they created a pilot for a new show named 333 Montgomery.

333 Montgomery was not picked up, but once again, because of his immense popularity Jake had yet a third show based on his career.  It was called Sam Benedict and stared Edmond O'brien as Jake.  Sam Benedict ran for two seasons.
